The spouse of the late Lt. Col Ibrahim Sakaba, has denied guarantees by the Presidential competitor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, that he talked with her on the telephone.
Late Sakaba was one of the 44 warriors killed by Boko Haram radicals amid an assault on 157 Task Force Battalion in Metele, Borno State a month ago,
Atiku had asserted on Twitter @Atiku on Sunday that he talked with the widow of the late warrior,
He stated: “This Christmas I ask all Nigerians to save an idea for our military on the cutting edges of the war on dread.
“I had cause to phone Lt. Col. Ibrahim Sakaba’s widow this Yuletide. I am contacted by her dedication and love for her better half who paid the preeminent forfeit for Nigeria.”
The PUNCH anyway gave an account of Monday that the widow, Seun, who addressed their journalist, said that she never gotten any call from Atiku.
She asked why Atiku would tell lies, saying: “Why the untruths? I have not gotten any call from Atiku please,” she said.
